For
Mr. Jon Makovej, the ambassador of Roumania in Belgrade
Esteemed Mr. Makovej,
The reason of our addressing You is this year’s enrollment
of the future students from Serbia to the faculties in Roumania.
Our organisation
mediates in gathering documentation for the future students
of Roumanian nationality since its founding, ie. in the
last four years. Something which could be observed and to
which we have more than once brought the attention to is
the unequal status of the organisations which mediate in
gathering documentation for the future students of Roumanian
nationality from East Serbia. All these years political
party „Democratic Movement of Roumanians in Serbia“ is extremely
favored by the members of the commission which does the
enrollment as well as by the members of Roumanian Embassy
in Belgrade. We thought that the reason for this can be
found in the friendly connections between those people and
Mr.Dimitrije Kracunovic, president of „Democratic Movement
of Roumanians in Serbia“,who besides gathering documentaton
for students of various nationalities, has a special way
of charging various services such as translating documents,
and membership fees to the future students and their parents
who join his political party and pay their due for the current
year as well as for several years back???, which we brought
the attention to all these years. If we multiply the number
of candidates to the amount of money for the already mentioned
„services“ we get a pretty nice „budget“ belonging to this
political party, and this „job“ represents the only reason
of their existence on the political scene of Serbia. We
were contacted by students who are willing to testify about
the mentioned „conditions“ concerning the enrollment to
the faculties in Roumania.
With Your arrival to the head of the Embassy in Belgrade
we expected that everything would change and that finally
an objective perception and a correct relation toward all
the organisations and institutions would follow. Unfortunately,
that didn’t happen. As opposed to previous years when more
organisations were gathering documentation, this year we
were suggested on the part of clerks from the Embassy that
we should hand over the documents to „Democratic Movement
of Roumanians in Serbia“. With consideration to my having
declined this while giving a clear explanation, I was soon
invited later on by the same clerk of the Embassy and on
that occassion I was told that we should collect the documents
by ourselves but that the enrollment would take place in
Zajecar which would be the first time ever. I don’t know
what were the criteria of making such a decision, but we
inform You that in Zajecar except „Democratic Movement of
Roumanians in Serbia“ with its main office in a basement
of a private house, the secretary of the mentioned party
and all this without any visible mark of the organisation,
no other organisation has its office. On this occassion
I inform You that our organisation does not accept going
to Zajecar and at the same time we suggest that the enrollment
be perfomed in Negotin in the premises of our organisation,
there existing adequate conditions for the reception of
future students and a normal functioning of the commission.
Mr. Makovej, I most honestly regret being forced to address
You in this way. I also hope that You do not support such
doings.
With the hope of this mistake being corrected and in the
interest of a correct cooperation with all the organisations,
I warmly greet You and wish You success in Your work.
Respectfully,
July 20, 2006.
president, Zaviša Žurž
